The 7th round of the European Team Chess Championship in Warsaw (Poland) is almost ended and Georgian women’s and men’s teams played draw.
Women’s team played against Poland and Bela Khotenashvili (2524) won over Iveta Raylic (2404), but her victory was deducted by the defeat of Nino Khurtsidze (2462) against Yolanta Zavadska (2383). Nana Dzagnidze (2556) and Lela Javakhishvili (2423) played draw with Monica Sotsko (2431) and Karina Shchepkowska-Horowska (2382).
Georgian team gained 10 points and is in the 3rd place traces Ukraine (13) and Armenia (11). In the 8th round these last teams will face each other. Georgian chess players faces Russia, which has also 10 points.
Georgian men’s team played draw with England, consider as a favorite. Mikheil Mchedlishvili (2631) won over Luce Macshane (2696), Merab Gagunashvili (2556) lost to Nigel Short (2680), Baadur Jobava (2695) and Levan Pantsulaia (2595) played draw with Michael Adams (2752) and Gavein Johns (2648).
Georgian team gained 9 points and is in the 9th place. France is a leader with 12 points and Armenia and Azerbaijan follows it with 11-11 points.
In the 8th round, Georgian chess players will face Ukraine, France – Armenia, Azerbaijan – Greece and Netherlands – Russia.
