Pity Failure of Khotenashvili

 

In the 7th round of Women’s Grand-Prix series III, Georgian chess player, Bela Khotenashvili (2514) suffered defeat against Venjun Ju (2535) of China at the 38th move.

So, Khotenashvili gained 4.0 points and kept the 4th place. Humpy Koneru (2607) of India is a leader with 5.5 points. Ukrainian Katerina Lahno (2532) and Harika Dronavall (2475) of India are in the 2nd-3rd places with 5.0 – 5.0 points.

In the 8th round, Khotenashvili plays with white pieces against Armenian Elina Danielian (2470), who is in the 11th place with 2.5 points. Koneru will face Zhao (2579) of China, Lahno – Uzbek Nafisa Nadisa Muminova (2293) and Dronavall – Bulgarian Antuaneta Stefanova (2496).

Recall, that Grand-Prix series consist of 6 stages and world’s 18 best women chess players are participating in it. Each of them will compete in four stages.

After 2 stages of Grand-Prix, the Top 5 is following: 1. Anna Muzychuk (Slovenia) – 250 points; 2. Nana Dzagnidze (Georgia) – 220; 3. Tatiana Kosintseva (Russia) – 190; 4. Bela Khotenashvili (Georgia) – 170; 5. Humpy Koneru (India) – 160;
