Revaz Mindorashvili and Begi Darchia, head coaches of the Georgian Freestyle and Greco-Roman teams, named the composition for the World Championship. Tashkent will host the main competition of the season on September 8-14. In Freestyle wrestling, champions and prizewinners will be revealed in the initial two days, then women will take part and Greco-Romans will end the tournament on September 12-14.
Both teams went to Borjomi for the final meeting of preparation circle. The coaches named those participants, who will leave for Tashkent, after the control meetings, which took place in these days. Both teams foresee the tradition, which settled in the last years, and made the choice on those wrestlers who are able to win the Georgian Championship.
Revaz Mindorashvili put the winners of the domestic competition on the list in 6 weight categories of 8: Beka Lomtadze, Malkhaz Zarkua, Aleksandre Jachvadze, Jumber Yvelashvili, Elizbar Odikadze and Giorgi Sakandelidze. In two weights, the coach gave the superiority to the experienced members of the team: Vladimer Khichegashvili (current champion of Europe) and Davit Marsagishvili (twice champion of Europe).
The team’s coaching staff decided to put Khinchegashvili on the world list before the start of the Georgian Championship and prepared him with an individual program for the main tournament of the season.
Marsagishvili suddenly stayed without medals in domestic competition, but considering the results shown at international tournaments, the leadership of the weight was entrusted to him anyway.
Freestyle wrestlers will leave for Tashkent on Thursday.
