“World Sport” found out that Viktor Sanikidze, one of the best basketball players of the Georgian national team, will continue career in “Zaragoza” of Spain. He will play for the Spanish team till the end of season 2013-14.
A reliable source confirmed the transfer of Sanikidze to “Zaragoza”. We tried to gain comment from Sanikidze but in vain.
“Vika” played for “Montepaschi” Siena in 2012-13. However, he does not show up in lineup often. So, the both sides agreed on stopping the contract and Sanikidze became a free basketball player.
“Zaragoza” will be his 6th foreign club after “Dijon” (France), “Estudiantes” (Spain), “Rock” (Estonia), “Virtus” (Italy) and “Montepaschi” (Italy).
At EuroBasket 2013 Sanikidze averagely earned 14.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.0 assist in 5 games.
Giorgi Shermadini, central forward of the Georgian national team, will also have debut in “Zaragoza”. So, Primera Division will become more interesting for Georgian fans.
