Vasil Maisuradze, head coach of the Georgian U-19 national team, is satisfied with a friendly match against Poland. The match took place on the Mikheil Meskhi stadium on 12 August and the hosts won 3:0. The next match will be held on the same arena on 14 August and it will start at 18:00.
Vasil Maisuradze: We beat Poland. I have not seen us score such goals. 4-5 football players of Poland play for the national team. It is a good team and came to Tbilisi for a victory. This team played in semifinal of European U-17 Championship and lost to Germany.
We tested some new players: Zarandia, Shengelia, Tabidze, Tevzadze, Beridze. I am satisfied with them. These players will have other chance to show themselves. Before the match we held a 4-day meeting. 6 football players of “Torpedo” Kutaisi joined us on the last day.
- You will hold another test match against Poland on 14 August. Are you planning changes in lineup?
- There will be some changes for sure. We called up 19 players for the team and we will give chance to all of them.
- Do you plan other friendly matches before the start of the first qualifying round of European Championship?
- It is tough to hold friendly matches in U-19 team. We plan two test matches against Serbia in Tbilisi. Besides it, we want to hold other two friendlies.
The Georgian U-19 team will hold the first qualifying round of European Championship 2014 in Tbilisi. The tournament will be held on 13-18 November. Holland, Moldova and Wales will be the opponents of the Georgians in the 11th group. The first-second-placed teams of the group will make through to elite round.
