Varlam Liparteliani, member of Georgian judo team, is in the semifinal of World Championship. #1 seed Georgian (90 kg) won over Swedish Joakim Dvarby in the semifinal. Before defeating Dvarby, Liparteliani won over French Ludovic Gobert by waza-ari and German Marc Odenthal by Ippon.

In the semifinal, Varlam Liparteliani will meet the most uncomfortable rival, Russian Kirill Denisov, to whom he lost the final of European Championship.

Jarji Zviadauri (Iliadis Ilias) of Greece and Esley Gonzalez of Cuba will compete for the next semifinal.

Final meetings will start at 23:00 of Tbilisi time.
