After Russian “Grand Slam” Georgian judo team stayed in Moscow for two days and practiced there. On July 24-31 the team of Irakli Uznadze will participate in joint team meeting in Sochi.
Some judokas returned from Moscow to Tbilisi. Those judokas who were not on the list of “Grand Slam” joined others in Sochi.
According to the official Facebook page of Georgian Judo Federation, the following sportsmen departed for Sochi from Moscow: Amiran Papinashvili (60kg), Zebeda Rekhviashvili (73kg), Levan Tsiklauri (81kg), Varlam Liparteliani (90kg), Nodar Metreveli (100kg) and Adam Okruashvili (+100kg). Lasha Shavdatuashvili (66kg), Nugzar Tatalashvili (73kg), Avtandil Chrikishvili (81kg) and Levan Zhorzholiani (100kg) left for Sochi from Tbilisi.
After returning to Georgia the team will hold a meeting in Kvareli. 9 sportsmen will be named there. The Georgian judokas will arrive in Brazil one week before the start of World Championship.
World Championship will start in Rio de Janeiro on 26 August and will last till 1 September.
