Pre-match trainings of the national teams of Georgia and Spain were held in Albacete, at the Carlos Belmonte Stadium. The Georgian team is in the host city already 6 days, and the team of Vicente del Bosque, after the match with Belarus, went to Madrid first from Mallorca.
The Georgian team holds the last meeting of qualifying in the current circle with the most renovated lineup. The football players, who were always in the starting lineup (Kankava, Targamadze, Amisulashvili, Grigalava, Okriashvili, Ananidze), due to various reasons, could not help the team against Spain.
Temur Ketsbaia expatiated this issue with the media at the pre-match press conference: “Absence of those players who during the whole qualification phase were in the starting lineup is a great loss. Those players, who are now with us, are prepared well. We will try to play against Spain as well as in the first match in Tbilisi. Of course, do it against one of the best teams in the world will be difficult, but we will try to use our chance. Everybody knows well, that Spain is the best today and will be one of the main favorites in the Brazilian World Championship” – said Ketsbaia.
As we already told, Georgia completes the qualifying stage of FIFA World Cup 2014 with the match against Spain. And our opponent – World and European Champion, starts preparing for the upcoming World Cup already from tomorrow.
Spaniards chose Albacete for the last match of the qualifying stage, where they last played in 2008. 5 years ago Spain defeated Armenia 4:0 here and after this they won for the first time in the history of World Cup, and in 2012 got the title of European best team once again.
The Spanish Football Federation has arranged the special exhibition in the Central Park of Albacete, which will continue for 2 days and every fan has the opportunity to be photographed with the cups, or purchase the gear of the favorite team at available prices.
This event aroused great interest. In the evening, when Georgia was ending the pre-match training, local fans were allowed into the stadium. Spanish players took the field after us and the stadium filled in 15 minutes.
Nearly 18 thousand fans were able to get into the arena and about 10 thousands remained outside the stadium. Their only hope is to attend the match and 50 Euro is the price of most of tickets.
Representatives of Georgian media has no opportunity to attend the match again. The football atmosphere in Albacete clearly deserves the attention of the media – first team of our country, World and European Champion, the most important Cups, these are all collected in the little city of Spain.
Match of national teams of Spain and Georgia will start at 23:00 Tbilisi time and you can watch it live on the first channel of the public broadcaster.
