In the qualifying round of World Championship 2014 in football, after the match against France (0:0), Temur Ketsbaia announced that they made a half work.
Temur Ketsbaia “First of all, I want to say that I am proud of the boys. They held such game today that I hope this result will help us in difficult period, to did something for our football. We did not let anything to French team. Those fans, who has not come to the stadium today, they lost many. Maybe, it depends on us, because in many matches we did not justified their hopes and that’s why they did not appear on the stadium. We just made the half work. We play against Finland in 4 days and I hope we will be able to reach our goal, when we will have such fans, who encouraged our boys till the end of this match”.
- This day was created by Football players. What was the reason of success? Who you will distinguish?
- It is difficult to distinguish someone in such game. Every player made their best to gave their fans such a beautiful evening. Everybody fought till the end and I thank to all of my team. If we fight till the end, we will achieve more. In my opinion, these guys, will achieve better result. I hope, we will achieve the goal.”
- First 15 minutes of the second half, the team made a particularly strong moments to score. Did you say them to attack more during the break?
- I told them to move ahead more archly. It is good, that we started the second half well. The second half was better. It is difficult to say, that we could defeat the French team. The Georgian team proved, that they play better at home. It will be better to hold matches in Georgia. I hope, this result will help us in the future, due to play more friendly matches in Georgia.
- Did the French cold-shoulder us? The day before the match, French journalists were talking that they would win this game...
- I can say such thing that maybe I regret, that’s why I will not answer.
- Georgian team needs to win and you should be the number 1 against Finland, how would you do this? Did you hug Targamadze in the cloak-room after the match?
- We must win, but it does not mean that we should put 5 forwards from first 5 minutes. If we tell our tactic, maybe our opponent use it. Why is it much spoken that there is a tension in the team? Which bird brings you this news? What a disguise bird is it.
- You did not allow Zurab Khizanishvili play. Did you find the optimum composition after the past match?
- I talked to Zura before the match. One of the tree central defenders had yellow card. If someone get “yellow” we would stay without central defender. The team played such game, that we will think about choosing composition for another match.
- There was a playing discipline in the match against France, which was not in the past matches...
- Maybe, you mean friendly matches. When we were winning test-matches, they said that the opponents were not good. In friendly matches, everybody have a chance to show themselves. The players should understand, that both, friendly and official, matches are important for the team. It is a pity, that this season was not good for Georgian football. I mean European Cups. We we came to the team, we said that players will go to the field to fight. We said that there will not be 0:3 and 0:5 loss, only half an hour to play, and the audience will leave the stadium.
- I hope, our team will win the 11th match against Finland.
- I do not like to promise anything. I hope, more fans will come for the match against Finland.
- Today’s match showed, that such formation team can achieve success by such playing and there is no need to change tactic for the future...
- You must play such football, which you can. At first we put 2 forwards in Kazakhstan, then -3, and finally we had 5 attackers on the field. Important is, how the football player comes back, and not how he runs in the front. We could not beat everyone in the team level. When we played draw against France, this was a great surprise for the World, than our loss against Kazakhstan. Maybe, someone does not like this, but it is true.
