Georgian top seed Anna Tatishvili is close to winning the first tournament of the year. The Georgian is No.1 seed at the Daytona Beach (25 000 USD) tournament and has made through to the final.
Tatishvili was beating Dia Evtimova of Bulgaria 5:0 when she retired. Then, Anna won over the Americans – Asia Muhammad and Taylor Townsend 6:0, 6:4 and 7:5, 6:1. In semifinal she defeated Laure Siegemund of Germany 2:6, 6:3, 6:2.
In the final Anna will face No.4 seed Allie Kiick of America.
Tatishvili earned 30 ranking points. If she wins the tournament, she will gain 50 points. Now Anna is in the 126th place with 499 points in WTA ranking.
