“Support Georgia” – joint protest action of Georgian Football Federation and “Fans of Georgian Sport” was held in the village Dvani and recently completed. The demonstrators, who were about 50 people, organized the silent action in Dvani at the barbed-wire fence with Georgian flags and white shirts with inscription – “Support Georgia”. After this they went to the stadium of this village and held the symbolic match (the map of Georgia was painted on the field and national anthem was also performed).
Now it is calmness in Dvani, but according to local residents, Russian occupants are going to move another 50 meters.
As Beka Nozadze, representative of “Fans of Georgian Sport”, said to “World Sport, the idea of this action appeared after conversation with Zviad Sichinava, president of GFF.
“Federation undertook the bus service and travel costs, as well as soccer balls and taking paraphernalia and we mobilized the fans. In should be noted, that not only fans from Tbilisi took part in this action but there were also from Zugdidi, Gori, Kutaisi, Lanchkhuti and Rustavi”, - said Beka Nozadze.
Football match was accompanied by the encouraging songs of fans and shouting “Georgia, Georgia”. Shirts of the participants were beautified with three inscriptions: “Georgia”, “Ditsi”, “Dvani”.
Recall, that the matches of 8th round of the national Championship was accompanied also with these inscriptions – with which the Federation and Georgian football players have expressed their support to Didtsi and Dvani. As Zviad Sichinava told to “World Sport”, the Federation does not exclude such actions in the future.
"We are always ready to take any offers to support these villages and generally Georgia”, - noted the president of Federation.
After the symbolic match, the demonstrators of this action gave Georgian flags, balls and some of the shirts to the local residents.
