Giorgi Shermadini, basketball player of the Georgian national team, returned in Spanish “Zaragoza”. Recall that the Georgian center started the last season in “Zaragoza” and then joined Greek “Olympiacos”, however he could not gain a foothold and was in search of a new team.

For instance, in the lines of “Zaragoza” his average result in Spanish Championship was 12.9 points and 5.9 rebounds, at Euro Cups – 9.8 points and 5.6 rebounds. In the Greek League his average result was 2.6 points and 1.6 rebounds and in Euro League – 5.4 points and 3.4 rebounds.

As you know, 25-year-old Shermadini missed the qualifying circle of European Championship 2015 due to his trauma, however now he is fully recovered. According to the official website of “Zaragoza”, Georgian basketball player signed 1-year contract and Joaquin Ruiz, head coach of the Aragon club, made the following comment.

“We have such feeling as if Giorgi did not leave the club. The club’s staff and the team’s fans will be very happy when he joins us. He is a true professional and returned healthy. Shermadini has a lot of experience of playing in Europe and he should bring us a great benefit”.

For instance, “Zaragoza” plays very successfully in the pre-season period and has won all 4 control matches: against “Huesca” – 88:55, against Shengelia’s “Laboral Kutxa” – 64:63, against “Estudiantes” – 82:74 and against “Murcia” – 86:76.

On September 19 “Zaragoza” plays against “Bruisa” and it is expected that Shermadini will also play. On September 21 “Zaragoza” plays against “Valencia”, On 25 – Russian “Khimik” and on the first October against “Real”. The Spanish Championship starts on October 5 and the club of Shermadini will host “Juventut”.

In the next season the Aragons will play at Euro Cups.
