Shengelia will be Unable to Play for 6 Weeks

Tornike Shengelia, basketball player of the Georgian national team, who plays for the Spanish “Laboral Kutxa” in new season, cannot help the new club for about 6 weeks.

Recall that Shengelia was injured in the qualifying circle of European Championship 2015, in the match against Hungary and has not appeared on the arena. The forward was diagnosed tendon tension, which means that he will be unable to play for month and a half.

According to the official website of “Laboral Kutxa”, Shengelia is under supervision of the club doctors and they do their utmost to make Tornike recover as soon as possible.

For instance, the team of Shengelia has already hold the first training match and lost to “Gipuzkoa Basket” 52:67. They will have the next match on September 9 against “Zaragoza”, former club of Viktor Sanikidze and Giorgi Shermadini.

The Spanish Basketball League starts on October 5, the Basque club plays against “Barcelona” in the first round. As for Euro League, “Laboral Kutxa” will hold the initial match on October 15 against “Neptunas” (Lithuania).

Unfortunately, Shengelia will surely miss the Spanish Super Cup, which will take place on September 26-27 and besides Basque, “Real”, “Barcelona” and “Valencia” will fight for the title.

The Georgian will miss also the fight for the new Euro-American Cup, under its aegis “Laboral Kutxa” will leave for South America and on September 19 and 21 will play against “Aguadas” and “Penarol”, accordingly in Uruguayan Montevideo and Argentinean Mar de Plata.
