Lasha Shavdatuashvili, Olimpic and Europe Champion, started the current championship of Rio de Janeiro with easy victory. He joined the competition from the 2nd circle and won over Yong Sik Choe of North Korea by 2 Yuko and Ippon.
In 1/16 final, Shavdatuashvili will face to the winner among Uzbek Rishod Sobirov and British Colin Oates. It should be told that Shavdatuashvili competed against Oates in the ¼ final of London Olympic Games and he tackled Oates in gold score.
