Georgian tennis player Sofia Shapatava has a successful start at the Moscow tournament (Russia, 25 000 USD).

In the first round of “Moscow Open” No.6 seed Shapatava defeated Emiliya Gadzhieva of Russia 6:3, 6:1. In 1/8 final Margarita Lazareva of Russia will be opponent of Sofia.

In doubles draw Shapatava and Belarusian Ilona Kremen will play against Russian Saidova and Ukrainian Shkudun.

In the first round of the Moscow men’s tournament (15 000 USD) Nikoloz Basilashvili was beating Valery Rudnev of Russia 1:0 when his opponent retired.

In doubles draw No.4 seed Basilashvili and Russian Denis Matsukevitch lost to the Russian duet 4:6, 4:6.

In 1/8 final of the Adana tournament (Turkey, 10 000 USD) Mariam Bolkvadze will play against No.3 seed Olga Ianchuk of Ukraine. In doubles draw Ana Kadagidze and Estonian Annely Pokras lost to Ianchuk and Slovak Zlochova 1:6, 0:6.
