Shapatava Waiting for Jankovic

Sofia Shapatava used her chance. The Georgian tennis player overcame the qualifying round of Claro Open Colsanitas (Colombia, 250 000 USD) as a “lucky loser”. In the main draw she defeated the first opponent.

In the qualifying draw No.7 seed Shapatava beat Laura Pous-Tio of Spain 6:3, 6:3, Ysaline Bonaventure of Belgium 3:6, 6:3, 6:1. But then she failed to Lara Arruabarrena of Spain 6:4, 3:6, 2:6.

Olga Govortsova of Belarus withdrew due to knee injury. So, Sofia replaced Olga and played Dinah Pfizenmaier of Germany.
