On 2 September the Georgian national team departed for Ljubljana from Vilnius at 15:00 Slovenian time by charter flight. Besik Liparteliani, president of Georgian Basketball Federation, and general deputy Merab Ratishvili joined the team at the Slovenian airport. The team and the managers of the federation left for resort Lasko by special bus. The Georgian national team stayed at “Thermana Lasko” hotel. Other three teams of Group C – Croatia, Czech Republic and Poland - also stayed at this hotel. As we were told at the administration of “Thermana Lasko”, Slovenian and Spanish teams stayed at other hotel – nearer Celje.

This evening the Georgian national team held the first practice in Lasko.

The author of this article and journalists of TV channel “Rustavi 2” arrived in Celje by car and took the FIBA accreditation documents in media center.

You can feel in Celje that games of EuroBasket will take place here. We found out that the Slovenian team has spirited fans and they will help the team. The Slovenian colleagues greeted us warmly. They told us they know much about the Georgian national team and wished us good luck.
