Georgia Beat France

 

The Georgian judo team celebrated the first victory at World Team Championship in Rio de Janeiro. The team of Irakli Uznadze defeated France 3:2 and made through to ¼ final.

At first the French team advanced. David Larose beat Lasha Shavdatuashvili (66 kg) by waza-ari-yuko. Nugzar Tatalashvili (73 kg) won over Pierre Duprat. Avtandil Chrikishvili (81 kg) defeated Loic Pietri. Axel Clerget broke rules and Varlam Liparteliani (90 kg) was declared winner.  

Adam Okruashvili wrested Teddy Riner and the French won by one shido.

In ¼ final the Georgian team will face Mongolia.
