Italian financial police presented the list of former basketball players of “Montepaschi” Siena, who are suspected in tax evasion. According to Sportando.com 25 players are mentioned in this list. In eight cases, there was talk of meager funds, in the remaining 17 players Viktor Sanikidze, forward of Georgian national team, is also mentioned.

Recall that this week Ferdinando Minucci, former president and general manager of “Montepaschi”, was sentenced a house arrest. The official, who should have become a manager of Serie A on July 1, is suspected in a large-scale financial fraud.

As reported, after signing the contracts with players, the leadership of “Montepaschi” was transferring taxes to the foreign accounts, thereby there had a place to avoid Italian taxes. It is reported that the total amount of covered funds is about 16-17 million Euros.
