The Georgian judo team will start preparation for World Championship with the Turkish meeting. The championship will take place in Chelyabinsk, Russia, in August. Tomorrow the Georgian sportsmen will depart for Antalya.
The Georgians will participate in three international tournaments before World Championship. Irakli Uznadze, head coach of the team, informed “World Sport”. The Georgians planned competing in four tournaments. They have already participated in Baku Grand Slam on May 9-11. The next tournament is Cuba Grand Prix on June 6-8 which is followed by the Rio de Janeiro tournament.
After Grand Prix the team of Irakli Uznadze will stay in Cuba three days to participate in the joint practice. On June 21-22 the tournament will be held in Hungary. On July 4-6 Mongolia will host another tournament.
After the tournaments the Georgian judo team will hold a 12-day meeting in Bakuriani. Then, the sportsmen will depart for Japan for a two-week joint practice. The judokas will hold the last 10-day meeting in Georgia.
World Championship will be held on August 25-31.
