“Zaragoza” of Giorgi Shermadini and Viktor Sanikidze celebrated a crucial victory in the 5th round of the UEFA Cup’s second group stage. They won over “Cedevita” in Zagreb and maintained the chance of making through to 1/8 final.
Croatian club defeated “Zaragoza” in the first circle 75:67. This time the Aragon club looked better and were able to take revenge – 77:74.
Victory for the Spaniards brought 3 points of Croatian Damian Rudenza in the last seconds and among the Georgians, Shermadini played better.
Georgian center spent 22:21 minutes on the arena and gained 10 points, 6 rebounds and 1 block-shot. Giorgi scored 4 2 points of 8, all two free throws, had 2 turnovers and got 5 personal fouls.
As for Sanikidze, he played only for 13:15 minutes and gained one 2 points, 3 points and 2 rebounds.
“Zaragoza” has 3 losses and 2 wins and moved to the 3rd place in P group. Whether the Georgian club makes through to 1/8 final of Euro Cup, it will be revealed last round.
In the last round, on February 19 “Zaragoza” will host “Besiktas” and they will have the only goal – they should win over Istanbul team with 7 points.
