Georgians domination in Mumbai

 

 “Mayor’s Cup”, the international chess tournament takes plays in Mumbai, India. Levan Pantsulaia(2563)  with 7.5 points is a leader of the tournament after 9 rounds. As for MIkheil Mchedlishvili(2645), he has 7.0 points and is on the 2nd place.

Pantsulaia won 6 parties in Mumbai and 3 finished with a draw, as for Mchedlishvili, he has highest rating. He has 5 wins and 4 draws.

Another Georgian, Merab Gagunashvili (2592) plays in India. He has 6.5 points and is on the 9th position. He won 6 parties, but lost two parties and one ended in a draw against competitors.

Pantsulaia plays with black figures against Armenian Zaven Andriasanom(2608, 7.0 point) in the 10th round. Mchedlishvili and Gagunashvili will meet each other.

The chess tournament of Mumbai underway in 11 rounds and it will finish on 6 June. The prize fund is approximately $ 28 000. The champion will receive $ 7 000.
