Georgian U-20 Opened Euro Basket with a Failure

 

 

The national team of Georgia on basketball U-20 lost to Germany in the first group match of the European championship begun in Tallinn in this age category with the score 75:89. Georgians couldn't consult with center the Serbian origin Bogdan Radosavlevic (2.13) who in 27 minutes gained 25 points, 7 selections, 4 passes and 1 block.

David Ustiashvili's wards "missed" 16-point spurt of the rival and though they played remained time with Germans on an equal basis in the first quarter, didn't manage to catch up with them any more.

Irakli Mikeladze who threw 19 points was the best among the Georgian. the 10-point boundary was overcome also by Valery Kvantaliani (15), Revaz Rogava (10) and Kakhaber Dzhincharadze (10).

Georgians conceded to the rival in selections 30:39, passes – 9:15, two-point kicks – 19:30 and penalties – 7:20. The only thing in what they surpassed Germans, were three-point - they realized 10 of 26 throws because of the three-point line, and Germans - only 3 of 18.

Let's remind that the national team of Georgia U-20 got to group A in which, except Germans Serbians, Lithuanians and Greeks act. Young Georgians will hold the second game on July 11th against the national team of Lithuania.

In case combined Georgia gets to the three of the best in group, it will continue fight for medals, but that ours should fight for place preservation in an elite division is more real.
