Three rounds of the current European Team Chess Championship is almost ended in Warsaw (Poland) and the Georgian women’s and men’s teams participate without loss.
In the assets of the both teams are 2 wins and 1 draw. After winning over Austria (3.5:0.5) and Bulgaria (3:1) women’s team (Nana Dzagnidze, Meri Arabidze, Nino Khurtsidze, Bela Khotenashvili, Lela Javakhishvili) suddenly played draw with Israel and with 5 points occupied the 5th place.
Armenia, Poland and Ukraine with maximum number of points are leaders of women’s tournament.
We must consider the men’s team better (Baadur Jobava, Mikheil Mchedlishvili, Merab Gagunashvili, Levan Pantsulaia, Gaioz Nigalidze).
The Georgian team beat Belgians 2.5:1.5 in the first round, then played draw with Hungary and overcame German 2.5:1.5.
The Georgian men’s team also gained 5 points and are in the 4th place. Czech Republic and France are the leaders of the Championship with 6-6 points and Russia is in the 22th place yet with 3 points.
In the 4th round, Georgian women’s team plays against Serbia, and the men’s team will face Greece.
