Today-tomorrow Warsaw hosts Judo European Open Tournament. Georgian national team which has been renovated will represent 12-man staff there. The head coach Irakli Uznadze settled two-two sportsmen in four weight categories- 60, 73, 90 and 100. Georgia will have the only participant in 66 kg weight category, three in 81 kg, as for light weight category it will be without Georgians.
Today champions and prize winners will be found out in three weight categories. Vazha Margvelashvili and Paata Merabashvili will wrestle in 60 kg weight category. Margvelashvili wrestles against Jew Yoav Shemesh. In case of victory he wrestles against Brazilian Diego Santos. This judoka is the finalist of “Dusseldorf Grand Prix” which was held a week ago. Merebashvili starts the tournament against Indian Ashish Kumar, the winner will play against Hungarian Burian or Czech Davit Pulkrabek.
Shalva Kardava starts competition from the second circle of European Open Tournament- from the 1/16 final. Austrian Aleksander Waikhinger and Latvian Dmitris Haranatas will fight against each other for wrestling against him.
Zebeda Rekhviashvili and Nugzar Tatalashvili (both of them- 73 kg) start wrestling from the second circle. In the first circle Rekhviashvili will wrestle against Finn Eetu Laamanen and British Stiven Fridrich, supposedly the opponents against Tatalashvili are Czech Mikhal Vanichek and Irish Loid Maning.
In 81 kg weight category two sportsmen will wrestle from Georgian three judokas. Khvicha Khutsishvili wrestles against Hungarian Milan Kolen. The winner will play against Brazilian Mauro Moura.
Paata Ghviniashvili starts Warsaw tournament with the fight against Serbian Miroliub Ivezic and in case of winning he will wrestle against host Jacob Kobenets.
Levan Tsiklauri starts competition from the second circle. He wrestles against the winner between Mongolian Altanbagana Gantulga the finalist of Dusseldorf or Alexey Nefedov.
Lasha Taveluri (90 kg) will rest in the first circle and his suppose opponents area- Lithuanian Zilvan Lekavichus and Mongolian Tsogtgerel Khutag, Ukrainian Andrey Spiridonov. The winner will play against Hungarian Christian Toti.
After a long pause, Levan Zhorzholiani (100 kg) is seeded as No.1 at Pole tournament. He starts competition from the second circle, against Lithuanian Carlos Bauza. Davit Loriashvili also starts the tournament with the same stage. His opponent is Dmitro Berezhny.
