Opponents for Georgians at European Tournament are Known

 

European championship starts in Budapest. On April 25-27, in three days of the tournament champions and prize winners will be found out in 7 weight categories and on April 28 will be found out prize winner teams. Today men in 60kg and 66kg weigth categories will wrestle. Amiran Papinashvili (60kg) and Lasha Shavdatuashvili (66kg) will represent Georgia.

There are 29 sportsmen in the lightest weight category. Amiran Papinashvili is No.1 seed at this tournament and he will wrestle against those six sportsmen, who will start competition from the second circle- from the 1/8 final. The first opponent of Georgian judokas is Azerbaijani Vugar Shirinl or Finn Yuho Reynval. In case of starting the tournament well propable rival of Papinashvilis is Czech Pavel Petrikov. 

Jew Artem Arshansky, winner of European U-23 Championship and also bronze winner of European championship in the same age category British Ashley Maccuens are in this draw. 

There are more experienced sportsmen in the second draw. Austrian Ludvig Paysehr twice European champion (2004 and 2008) and prize winner of Olympic Games and World Championship, Sofian Milu French champion of Europe (2010), Dutch Jeroun Muuren twice European champion and Armenian Hovanes Davdtyan prize winner of World championship are in this draw. 

There are 32 participants in 66 kg weight category. Lasha Shavdatuashvili who is No.2 seed at this tournament wrestles against Belgian Yasper Lefever. Winner will play against Armenian Gor Harutinyan or Romanian Remus Mircea. In the 1/4 final Georgian sportsman wrestles against Giorgi Zantaria of Ukraine.

This one is European (2011) and World (2009) champion, but in one kg lighet weight category. He is a complete begginer in 66 kg weigth category, but besides this he has already won gold medal at Samsun Grand Prix.

 Preliminary matches start at 13:00 o'clock (Tbilisi time).
