The second day of the Budapest World Championship turned out to be unsuccessful for the Georgian freestyle wrestling team. Although the chance of a medal still remains for the team, coached by Revaz Mindorashvili, but this is not what the fans were expected.
Davit Marsagishvili (84 kg), current European champion, lost a chance of gold-silver in the 1/8 final, in which he lost to Ehsan Lashgari. Vladimer Khinchegashvili (60 kg), finalist of London Olympic Games, went through the ¼ final and there he lost to Mongolian Niam-Ochir Enhsaihan.
lashgari and Enhsaihan could not go through the final and the Georgian wrestlers lost a chance of bronze too.
Heavyweight Geno Petriashvili, after two impressive victories, lost in the semifinal against Russian Hazdimurad Gacalov and now is in the final of repechage. 19-years-old Georgian will fight for the bronze medal against Zhiwei Deng of China.
Otar Maglakelidze
