Amiran Papinashivili (60kg), member of Georgian national judo team and current European champion, won three meetings at European Championship in Montpellier (France) and made through to the semifinal.

The Georgian lightweight won over Finnish Vadud Balatkhanov by 4 shido. He overcame Vincent Limar, debutant of French team, by yuko. In ¼ final beat Armenian Hovanes Davtyan by wazari. In semifinal he will face Azerbaijani Olgar Mushkiev.

Today, wrestlers in 66kg weight category also participated but Georgian has no representatives in this weight.
