Nana Dzagnidze of Georgia (2550) and Anna Muzychuk of Slovenia (2593) shared the second-third places at the second stage of FIDE Grand Prix which ended up in the city of Armenia, Dilijan. Dzagnidze earned 120 points.
Overall, the Georgian and the Slovenian are leading Grand Prix. Muzychuk has 250 points and is in the first place. Dzagnidze has 220 points and is in the second place.
The following chess players are behind the leaders: Tatiana Kosintseva of Russia (2526) – 190 points, Bela Khotenashvili of Georgia (2531) – 170 points, Humpy Koneru of India (2597) – 160 points and current world champion – Anna Ushenina of Ukraine (2499) – 155 points.
Khotenashvili who won the first stage earned only 10 points. Koneru won the second stage.
The third stage of Grand Prix 2013-14 will take place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from September 17 to October 1. Only Khotenashvili will play at the tournament from the Georgians. The following chess players will compete: Koneru, Zhu (China), Lahno (Ukraine), Cmilyte (Lithuania), Stefanova (Bulgaria), Dronavalli (India), Kosteniuk (Russia), Girya (Russia), Danielian (Armenia), Zhao (China) and Muminova (Uzbekistan).
Each chess player must participate in four-four tournaments of Grand Prix. V stage will be hosted by Tbilisi. The upcoming tournament will be held from June 18 to July 2 in 2014.
Grand Prix consists of six stages. 60 000 EUR is for each stage: I place – 10 000 EUR (+160 points), II – 8 250 (+130), III – 6 750 (+120), IV – 5 750 (+90), V – 5 000 (+80), VI – 4 500 (+70), VII – 4 250 (+60), VIII – 4 000 (+50), IX – 3 250 (+40), X – 3 000 (+30), XI – 2 750 (+20), XII – 2 500 (+10).
Winner of Grand Prix will play against champion of the planet in 2015. The champion of the planet is Anna Ushenina who won the championship by knockdown system. This year Ushenina will play against Yifan Hou (China), two-time world champion and winner of Grand Prix 2011-12.
