The Georgian freestyle wrestling cadet team won three medals at the Mushvig Isayev international tournament which took place at the Sarhadchi Olympic Center.

Givi Macharashvili (100 kg) showed the best result. He became a champion. In the final the Georgian beat Ikbal Hachizade of Azerbaijan. In this weight category Joni Petriashvili took the third place. Zaur Beradze won bronze medal in 85 kg.

Azerbaijan, Russia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Georgia participated in the international tournament.

“We gave chance to the main candidates of the team. We will fill the list for European Championship according to the results of the Georgian Championship which will be held on February 22-24” – Giorgi Iantbelidze, coach of the Georgian cadet team, told “World Sport”.

European Cadet Championship 2014 will take place in the city of Bulgaria, Samokov, on May 6-11. World champions and prize winners will be found out in the city of Slovakia, Snina, on July 15-20.
