Nigaladze is Almost Champion

 

Georgian 72th men chess championship, which is underway at Tbilisi chess palace named after Nona Gaphrindashvili is to end.

On June 22, there were held 10th round matches, which caused a lot of interest. International master Gaioz Nigaladze who is the leader of the tournament played against Lomsadze, and managed to beat him with black pieces. As a result Nigaladze gained the 7th victory in a row and kept leadership.

The match between Luka Paichadze and Konstantine Shanava also caused a lot of interest. Luka Paichadze could not manage to beat Shanava who is in the fourth place with 6.5 points and as a result he is a point behind Nigaladze.

In case of equal points, the sportsman with better coeficient will be named as a winner. Nigaladze plays against Kuparadze with white pieces and even playing a draw is enough for becoming champion. So, in fact he is almost a champion.
