17-year-old Georgian tennis player Shota Meparidze got in the Georgian national team and played in the third group of Davis Cup Europe/Africa Zone. Now he showed up at the Almaty international tournament in Kazakhstan.
Meparidze is No.3 seed at junior’s tournament and made through to ¼ final. Shota defeated hostes – Gnilozubov and Arashov 6:3, 6:1 and 6:0, 6:0. In ¼ final the Georgian lost to Belarusian Dubinski 1:6, 4:6.
In doubles draw Meparidze and Adanal of Turkey beat Kazakhs – Eltaev and Yusupov 6:0, 6:1. But then they lost to another host duet 4:6, 6:0, 6:10.
