After the game against Croatia, Igor Kokoskov, head coach of the Georgian national team, and Giorgi Tsintsadze who earned 25 points showed up at the press conference. Jasmin Repesa was accompanied by Ante Tomic who scored the last 2 pointer. Besides this, we asked Manuchar Markoishvili and Ricky Hickman to evaluate the game.
Igor Kokoskov: “I congratulate the Croatian national team and its coach on victory. It was a good game and I think fans enjoyed it. We tried zone defense which partially justified. In the last offence Tomic attacked with left hand and it was tough to defend. Ante is a perfect basketball player. Tsintsadze really played well”.
Manuchar Markoishvili: “It is pity that Tsintsadze, Hickman, Sanikidze and other boys played well and I could not help them. Hopefully, I will play better in the next game. Three games are ahead and we must fight for making through to the next round”.
Giorgi Tsintsadze: “I congratulate the Croats on victory. It was a pity loss but it is basketball. In spite of the failure, we must continue participation in EuroBasket with great commitment. We still have a chance”.
Ricky Hickman: “It turned out a dramatic game which often happens in basketball. It was a pity loss but we still have a chance. Three games are ahead”.
Jasmin Repesa: “It was a high level game and I want to congratulate the both teams on it. The both teams were close to victory. We did everything to win this game. I said before that Georgia has a good team. I must distinguish Tsintsadze and Hickman from the opponent team. They played really very productively. Hopefully, it will be a start of good series. We must prepare for the next game well”.
Ante Tomic: “After the loss to Spain, today’s victory was very important. The boys did their best and we achieved success. Now we have a rest and must prepare for the next games well”.
