Varlam Liparteliani, member of Georgian judo team, gained the first victory in the World Championship. #1 seed Georgian (90 kg) joined the competition from the 2nd circle and won over French Ludovic Gobert by waza-ari at the 4th minute.
In the 1/8 final, Liparteliani will face German Marc Odenthal.
