Varlam Liparteliani (90kg) a member of Georgian national judo team lost the match with Russian Kiryl Denisov in the final of European championship and took the second place. In a tense match Denisov managed to award a yoko at the last moment of the match.

Before the decisive fight, Liparteliani defeated four rivals. In two minutes he awarded wazari with Swiss Siryl Grosclaus, in gold time he beat Dutch Gyom Elmon with ippon. As for Lithuanian Karolis Bauza and Russian Kiryl Voprosov, Liparteliani beat them with awarding yoko.
