Varlam Liparteliani active world champion beat Russian Kiryl Voprosov at European championship, ongoing in Budapest and went through the final, where he meets against Russian Kiril Denisov, who beat German Mark Odental in the semi-final.

Liparteliani managed to award with the only yoko ten seconds before the final whistle.

Before the semi-final Varlam Liparteliani beat three rivals. He awarded with two wazaris with Swiss Siryl Grosclaus in two minutes and half. In gold time he beat Gyom Elmon with ippon.  As for Lithuanian Carlos Bauza, Liparteliani beat him with awarding with yoko.
