After 4 rounds, Irakli Beradze (2332) and Aleksandre Ebralidze (2027) are leaders with 3.5-3.5, they will play against each other in the next round. Tutisani (2058), Nikoloz Kumsiashvili (2105), Gigla Benidze (1988), Nika Ghvamberia (2006), Luka Licheli (1709) and Temur Otkhozoria (1742) are 0.5 point behind them.
As for girls, Marian Choladze (1909) is leader with 3.5 points, she plays against Anna Shapatava (2119) in the fifth round. Shapatava has 3.0 points. Nato Imnadze (2073), Nani Unapkoshvili (2023), Ana Kuchava (2047) and Nino Dakhundaridze (1708).
The tournament is held according to Swiss system in 9 rounds and the time control is the following: 90 minutes for 40 moves to each player, and them 30 minutes till the end of the match plus 30 seconds to each move.
Championship ends on February 10. The first and the second place winners relevantly will compete at European and World Championships. Player who gets place in top ten will be allowed to participate in both tournaments but with their expenses.
