“Laboral Kutxa” officially presented Georgian basketball player Tornike Shengelia. Felix Fernandez, sports director of the club, attended the presentation. He gave “Toko” No.7 shirt. The Georgian forward signed a 3-year contract with the Spanish club.

Shengelia who passed medical test was asked about his baby boy. Two week ago the son of Tornike was born.

As for the transfer: “Laboral Kutxa” is one of the best clubs in Europe and hopefully, I will have a chance to develop here”.  

Shengelia also talked about his time in NBA. “I think the experience I gained in NBA will help me here. I will do my best for “Laboral Kutxa”.

Mirza Teletovic, teammate of Tornike in “Brooklyn Nets”, also played for “Laboral Kutxa” before.

“Mirza approved my decision and told me I was going to a very good club and city”, - noted Shengelia.

According to Felix Fernandez, “Laboral Kutxa” will gather in August and will start preparation. Shengelia will join his new club later.

On July 20 Tornike will depart for Podcetrtek (Slovenia) with the national team. The Georgian national team will hold the last qualifying game of EuroBasket 2015 on August 27.
