On February 6-7 Tehran will host international tournament “Takhti Cup”. The Georgian team will also participate in it. Luka Kurtanidze, president of the Georgian Wrestling Federation, is in the Georgian team. 5-time European and two-time world champion made a statement about his return to sport at the end of the previous year. Kurtanidze will wrestle in 97 kg.

Georgia will present 77 sportsmen in the upcoming tournament. Head coach Revaz Mindorashvili chose those sportsmen who will also wrestle at European Championship. The only exception is 86 kg where Sandro Aminashvili replaced Davit Marsagishvili. Three sportsmen will wrestle in 57 kg because Giorgi Edisherashvili failed drug test and is disqualified for two years.

Tomorrow champions and prize winners will be found out in 57, 65, 74 and 97 kg and the day after tomorrow – in 61, 70, 86 and 125 kg.

Champions will earn 5-5 000 USD, silver and bronze medal winners – 3 and 2 000 USD.
