Georgian men’s tennis team lacked one win for moving up in the second group of Europe/Africa Zone of Davis Cup. The team of Victor Bakshi defeated Armenia and San Marino in Group C but lost to Norway 0:2 in play-off.
Giorgi Tsivadze lost to Stian Boretti 2:6, 5:7 and Aleksandre Metreveli – to Joachim Bjerke 4:6, 1:6. As doubles match had no sense, it was not held.
Norway does not a tennis player on ATP ranking. Metreveli is in the 965th place and Tsivadze – in the 1553rd place.
The Georgian team will play in III group of Europe/Africa Zone next year. Norway and Greece will play in II zone.
