Giorgi Edisherashvili (55kg) made Georgian fans happy at European Championship which is underway at Tbilisi Sports Palace. In final the Georgian beat Belarusian Vladislav Andreyeu and brought gold medal to the Georgian team.

It is worth mentioning that Edisherashvili achieved this success at the age of 24. Before that, he has won neither silver nor bronze medal.

“World Sport” talked to champion of Europe Giorgi Edisherashvili.

- Which fight was the toughest for you to win?

- Of course the final. It was very tough. The first two periods could not find out winner. I managed to defeat the opponent in the third period. I was the happiest man. I dedicate this victory to Georgian people and all my friends.

- Have you ever wrestled against Andreyeu before?

- I have wrestled against him in cadets and lost then. Now I took revenge.

- Why have not you achieved success before?

- I was a little lazy but Khinchegashvili was leader in this weight class. He is a titled sportsman of our country.

- What can you say about your future plans?

- I will rest a little and prepare for World Championship. The main goal is to win the Olympic Games.
