Roman Pipia/president of “Dinamo” Tbilisi/: To tell the truth, it was very unpleasant to read the interview of my colleague. We had no doubt that it was misunderstanding. I did not hide my astonishment and offence in conversation with our partners in “Dynamo” Moscow. We have received an explanation from the president of “Dynamo”. This explanation will satisfy our society.

Gennadi Solovyov, president of “Dynamo” Moscow: I am really sorry that the words addressed to one particular player were considered as an insult of the Georgian people. I apologize for the careless phrase. My words did not concern the nations and relationship between us. I stated it about impudent behavior and player of “Alania” in the match against “Dynamo”. I always highlighted that football club “Dynamo” Moscow and I am ready to develop and strengthen relationship between Georgia and Russia. That is why we decided to hold a friendly match between our clubs in Tbilisi. I respect the Georgian people and football players. I know most of them. I apologize once again if I insulted feelings of those people who had no connection with this incident which occurred in Vladikavkaz.

Искренне сожалею, что мои слова по поводу одного конкретного футболиста были восприняты как оскорбление в адрес всего грузинского народа. Приношу свои извинения за неосторожную фразу . Сказанное мною ни в коем случае не имело  отношения к национальностям, или отношениям между нами. Речь шла исключительно о хамском поступке и словах отдельно взятого игрока команды «Алания»  в матче против московского «Динамо». Всегда подчеркивал, что я лично и футбольный клуб «Динамо» Москва выступают за развитие и укрепление братских отношений между Грузией и Россией, именно поэтому мы решили организовать в Тбилиси «Матч дружбы» между нашими командами. Безо всяких подоплек. С огромным уважением отношусь к грузинскому народу, грузинским футболистам, многих из которых знаю лично. Поэтому готов еще раз извиниться, если, не желая того, затронул или оскорбил чувства людей, не имеющих никакого отношения к футбольному инциденту на матче во Владикавказе.
