Geguchadze Begins

Turmoil is Again in "Zugdidi"

The first round of the second circle of national football Championship will be held on Saturday – Sunday. The main thing will happen in Zestafoni on Sunday, where Gia Geguchadze will held his debut match against “Dinamo” Tbilisi.

Dila (Gori) – Sioni (Bolnisi)

November 9. Gori. “Tengiz Burjanadze.” 14:00

Disqualified: Davit Imedashvili, Koka Mikuchadze (both “Sioni”)

Referees: L. Silagava, L. Tordia, A. Kokaia, G. Kikacheishvili (substitute)

In the first round – 2:1

In the first round their matches was held in Vake, at “Mikheil Meskhi” and “Dila” won this match. The double of Grigol Dolidze (“Dila”) was followed to the goal of Lasha Totadze (“Sioni”). Giorgi Kiknadze coached “Sioni” and Giorgi Devdariani coached “Dila”. Now Giorgi Loladze coaches “Sioni” and Ramaz Sogolashvili – “Dila”. “Dila” is not the club it was last year when the team of Giorgi Daraselia won 11 matches in a row. The Gori club plays successfully under the guidance of Sogolashvili. The club made through to ¼ final of Cup and won the last two matches at the championship. “Dila” finished the first circle in the 5th place. But of course, the club has more ambitions. “Sioni” went through ¼ final of Cup but does not play successfully at the championship. They has not won since 25 August. It is 8 rounds in a row.

Spartak (Tskhinvali) – Merani (Martvili)

November 9. Mtskheta. “Mtskheta Park.” 14:00

Disqualified: Nika Kvekveskiri

Referees: D. Kharitonashvili, G. Elikashvili, I. Machitidze, Kh. Gagnidze (substitute)

In the first round: 1:2

They also have a new coaches. The debut of Kakha Kacharava in the previous round turned to be successful. “Spartak” won over “Wit Georgia” at “Mikheil Meskhi”. This victory is a great merit of the boys. I assured them that they do not deserve to be in the last place and can find a way out of a difficult situation, - said Kacharava. Probably, “Spartak” will appear on the field again for victory, moreover, that “Merani” have problems – they lost 5 matches in a row, and 3 of them by coaching Kakha Chkhetiani.

Metalurg (Rustavi) – Torpedo (Kutaisi)

November 9. Rustavi. “Poladi.” 14:00

Disqualified: Giorgi Gavashelishvili (“Metalurg”); Giorgi Kukhianidze (“Torpedo”)

Referees: T. Gvantseladze, G. Chigogidze, B. Chichinadze, O. Khetsadze (substitute)

In the first round: 1:1

October turned out to be unlucky for “Torpedo”. Gerard Zaragoza has very good team and it can be considered as discovery of the season together with “Guria”, however they are still young and they do not have enough stability. “Torpedo” lost two of the last 3 matches and barely could defeat “Spartak” in the penalty series. In a result, they let “Chikhura” the 2nd place, at the end of the first round.

“Metalurg” Rustavi revealed their character against “Dinamo” last round and if they were little bit correct, they would win this match (the match ended 0:0), because they made more goal moments than “Diamo”. Dusan Uhrin, head coach of “Dinamo”, said: This draw was equal of victory for my team. So, “Torpedo” will have quite difficult test in Rustavi. And besides, “Metalurg” have not lost at home this year.

Chikhura (Sachkhere) – Zugdidi

10 November. Kutaisi. Central. 14:00

Disqualified: Giorgi Pachkoria (“Zugdidi”)

Referees: B. Ninua, Z. Pipia, L. Varamishvili, T. Khuchua (reserve)

In the first round – 3:1

“Chikhura” proves that last year it did not get among leaders accidentally. Soso Pruidze chose experienced football players for his team. In the previous round “Chikhura” beat “Torpedo” in Kutaisi and is in the second place. However, the Kutaisi stadium is almost “native” for “Chikhura” but the club will return to its field soon.

No one can understand what is going on in Zugdidi. Several days ago head coach Koba Tsitaishvili left the club. He stated he could not get on director Malkhaz Chezhia. Three football players – captain Zviad Sikharulia, Nukri Apakidze and Roman Kankia left the club with him. According to the press office of the club, they will offer the players to stay in the club. As you know, Tsitaishvili brought two Egyptian football players in Zugdidi. One of them, Jamal Hamza, has already returned to his homeland. 30-year-old Muhamed Megahed practices with the club. As we know, the football players have not received 2-month salaries but the managers stated they would pay off their debts till 24 November. The Zugdidi club will present a new coach in the next few days. Vladimer Tutberidze will head the club in Kutaisi.

Guria (Lanchkhuti) – Wit Georgia (Tbilisi)

10 November. Kobuleti. “Chele Arena.” 14:00

Disqualified: Guram Adamadze, Guram Mchedlishvili (both “Wit Georgia”)

Referees: L. Kvaratskhelia, Z. Berulava, Zv. Erkvania, J. Khorava (reserve)

In the first round – 0:3

In the first round the veterans defeated the Lanchkhuti club 3:0 by the double of Elguja Lobjanidze and penalty of Giorgi Janelidze. It happened at the beginning of August and the situation has changed since then. After the first round “Guria” is in the 4th place. In the previous round “Wit Georgia” lost to outsider “Spartak” and will try to rehabilitate now. But do not forget: like “Dinamo”, “Guria” won all home matches in the first round.

Zestafoni – Dinamo (Tbilisi)

10 November. Zestafoni. “Davit Abashidze.” 18:00

Disqualified: Tevdore Grigalashvili (“Zestafoni”)

Referees: A. Baslehlo, Z. Menteshashvili, D. Chigogodze, A. Krichashvili, A. Nonikashvili, M. Beuklishvili (reserve)

In the first round – 1:2

Gia Geguchadze has returned to “Zestafoni” as a head coach. “We must do our best to get in Top 6. It is important for the development of the club. We have to work hard and we are not afraid of it. The Zestafoni fans will demand more from us. We want to play at the group stage of European tournaments”, - Geguchadze told journalists. “Zestafoni” had a great progress when Geguchadze coached the club. Leader “Dinamo” Tbilisi will be the opponent in his debut match.

Abdula Baslehlo of Syria will judge the match. Georgian Public Broadcaster will broadcast live match.
