Gagunashvili and Pantsulaia Played Draw in India

 

Merab Gagunashvili (2556) and Levan Pantsulaia (2595) played draw in the 5th round of the international tournament in Hyderabad, India.

In a result Georgian chess players gained 4-4 points and are in the 3rd and 4th places.

Another Georgian participant of the tournament Tornike Sanikidze (2553) played draw with Indian Shardul Gagare with black pieces and moved to the 21th place with 3.5 points.

All three Georgians will play with white pieces in the 6th round. Pantsulaia will face Armenian Levon Babujyan (2510), Gagunashvili – Indian Santosh Gujrati Vidit (2582), Sanikidze – Indian Svaminatan Soumya (2348).

The tournament is held by the Swiss system. It has 11 rounds and will end on December 3. Russian Ivan Popov (2652) is #1 seed, Pantsulaia is the second, Gagunashvili – 9th and Sanikidze is 10th.
