Revaz Mindorashvili, head coach of Georgian freestyle wrestling team, named seven sportsmen for European Championship. Gold medal winners of the Georgian Championship are in the team. The championship was held at the end of November when Zaza Turmanidze coached the team. Two months ago Mindorashvili stated he would consider the results of the Georgian Championship and added the champions had not guaranteed getting in the team.

Since then the Georgian wrestlers held several international tournaments and meetings. Now the team is holding meeting in Borjomi and the coach named the staff there.

“We have leaders in several weight classes but I did not tell them about my decision till the end of the meeting. There is tough competition in several weight classes. Perhaps, we are taking a risk but I think we chose the best ones. The following sportsmen will wrestle at European Championship: Giorgi Edisherashvili, Vladimer Khinchegashvili, Konstantine Khabalashvili, Davit Khutsishvili, Davit Marsagishvili, Elizbar Odikadze and Geno Petriashvili”, - Mindorashvili told “World Sport”.

According to the head coach of the team, the boys are on optimal form. The only concern is shoulder injury of Davit Khutsishvili.

The Georgian team will return to Tbilisi on March 17 and will stay at hotel “Holiday Inn”. The ballot of the tournament will be held on March 18. Champions and prize winners will be found out on March 19-22, 66 and 96kg – on March 19, 55 and 60 – on March 20, 74 and 120kg – on March 21 and 84kg – on March 22.
