In the Final "Olimpi" VS "MIA Academy"

In the fourth additional match of the second semi-final match of Georgian Super League play-off “MIA Academy” the owner of Georgian Cup beat “Kutaisi-2010” the bronze owner 65:61 and in the final it plays against “Olimpi”, which has already beat “Armia” a former champion 3:0.

As for the match it was very tense.MIA shot 62.3 percent from the field. MIA outrebounded Kutaisi 29-18 including 21 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for MIA especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard Deonta Vaughn (185-86, college:Cincinnati) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Benjamin Raymond (198-87, college: Xavier, agency: KMG Sports Management) helped adding 16 points and 6 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Four MIA players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Giorgi Barbakadze (203-91) with 19 points and 5 steals and guard Buba Kvimsadze (195-82) scored 7 points and 11 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

As for top-scorers, from the guests Vaughn, Bokolishvili and Archibeque scored 13-13 points. As for “Olimpi”, Giorgi Barbakadze earned 24 points/

In regular championship the score between “MIA Academy” and “Olimpi” is 1:1 and according to it the final match is expected to be very tense.
