On July 23 in the capital of Serbia Belgrade the XIV European championship on chess among women in which 15 Georgian chess players will participate, begins.

These chess players - Nana Dzagnidze (2558), Béla Khotenashvili (2512), Lela Dzhavakhishvili (2465), Nino Khurtsidze (2443), Salome Melia (2428), Sophko Guramishvili (2421), Nino Batsiashvili (2405), Maia Lomineishvili (2351), Maka Purtseladze (2349), Sophio Gvetadze (2341), Mari Arabidze (2320), Miranda Mikadze (2314), Anna Gavasheli (2170), Sophio Nikoladze (2163) and Madona Bokuchava (2109).

These leading chess players of the continent also will participate in this tournament: Anna Muzychuk (Slovenia, 2594), Ekaterina Lanho (Ukraine, 2542), Tatiana Kosintseva (Russia, 2528), Pia Cramling (Sweden, 2524), Valentina Gunina (Russia, 2507), Victoria Chmilita (Lithuania, 2497), Antuaneta Stefanova (Bulgaria, 2497), Alexander Kostenyuk (Russia, 2489)...

Tournament will last till August 3rd. the 30th of July - day of rest.

The prize fund of tournament is 60 000 EUR, from where the champion received 10 500, the silver medal winner – 8 250, the bronze medal winner - 6 500, and other sum will be divided on 20 best chess players.
