Georgian judo team made through to final of European Team Championship which is underway in Hungary. The Georgians will face Russia for the title.

The team of Irakli Uznadze beat Holland in semifinal. Lasha Shavdatuashvili (66kg), Zebeda Rekhviashvili (73kg) and Avtandil Chrikishvili (81kg) won their fights. Heavyweight Adam Okruashvili brought the fourth point to the team. Before that, Varlam Liparteliani (90kg) lost.

The Georgians are current champion of Europe. They started participation from ¼ final where they defeated Hungary 4:1. The Russians won over Azerbaijan, Slovenia and Ukraine.
