Spanish popular internet edition Marca dedicated an article to Gerard Zaragoza, head coach of “Torpedo” Kutaisi, and fitness coach Alberto Berrocal with a headline: “The Spanish domination in Georgia”.

In the previous season, “Dinamo” Tbilisi returned a championship title after a 5-year pause. Spanish “star” Xisco Munoz helped “Dinamo” with compatriots Mikel Alvaro and Coto.

Now other Spaniards try to achieve success. After 5 rounds “Torpedo” Kutaisi is in the first place under the guidance of Gerard Zaragoza and fitness coach Alberto Berrocal. The team can boast of being the only club which has not lost in the current season. On Tuesday the team played the second draw with “Dila” Gori, runner-up of the last season.  

“We added 5 players of U-19 team and the average age of the team is over 20. I think we showed a good result against the team which had a chance of playing at the group stage of Europa League”, - Marca cites the words of Zaragoza.

It is the first experience of Zaragoza to work in Supreme League. The Catalan has worked in low divisions before (“Manresa”, “Cambrils”, “Espanyol” and “Aspire” football academies etc.). Last year “Lokomotive” Tbilisi of First League invited him. He led a group of players who form the backbone of the Georgian U-19 team. He had 9 players from “Lokomotive”.

“This team had a coach who is considered the best in Georgia. We brought many young football players here and many had doubts about it. Most of the fans were against us. Fortunately, we started this season well and now people believe in us”, - stated the Spaniard.

“Our goal was to get in top six after two rounds. Now we think about gaining more points for the second phase. The football players and we will have more experience and will be more competitive”, - stated Zaragoza.

The change of club changed daily lifestyle of Gerard Zaragoza and Alberto Berrocal. “Tbilisi is a European capital. Kutaisi is three hours away from Tbilisi and is very different. Alberto, I and my wife spend most of our time at home and use internet”, - stated Zaragoza.
