The Georgian national team started the qualifying round of World Cup 2014 with victory over Belarus. This victory turned out the only win of Georgia.  

The Georgian football players held the last match against current world and European champion Spain on “Carlos Belmonte” in Albacete and lost 0:2.

In the first half Alvaro Negredo showed himself and in the second one – Juan Mata. The team of Vicente del Bosque will play at World Cup in Brazil. The second-placed France which defeated Finland 3:0 will play in play off.

There is nothing to talk about the previous match. Everything happened as it was expected. There are not many high class players in the Georgian national team. Besides that, some leaders (Kankava, Targamadze, Amisulashvili, Grigalava, Okriashvili, Ananidze) could not play.

The players of Ketsbaia defended their net for 90 minutes.

Finally, the Georgian national team earned 5 points in 8 matches and did not take the last place in I Group.
